Skydance Paramount Plans to Cut Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – News

Paramount Skydance plans to start large-scale job cuts during the week starting 27 October, cutting about 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn under CEO David Ellison.

The workforce reduction are a result of the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August valued at $8.4bn.

Further global layoffs are expected, with Paramount Skydance intending to announce all specifics during its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.

Earlier reports stated that Paramount planned to eliminate from 2,000 to 3,000 positions before the start of November.

As of December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization has not provided a response regarding the report.
